The Paris of Latin America

Close to the world’s southern limit, Buenos Aires is a city that received a very strong European influence. Different waves of immigration and the obsession of the Argentine ruling groups to be part of the “civilized world”, gave the city a European impact which can be seen in splendid buildings, impressive monuments, exclusive social clubs and a unique cemetery. This long process has finally turned Buenos Aires into the most sophisticated city of Latin America.

During this tour we explore in depth the neighborhoods of Retiro and Recoleta, the areas chosen in the early 1900s by the local elite to unfold their dreams of living as nobles in Argentina.

The tour starts at Plaza San Martin, original heart of the Argentine belle epoque, continues by walking along the Parisian boulevards of Recoleta neighborhood, and concludes with a visit to one of the grand palaces from inside, the Museo de Arte Decorativo.

* The museum can be replaced with the visit to the Recoleta Cemetery.
