Countryside Day: Gaucho, folklore & BBQ

At only 120 km (69 miles) away from the vibrant and cosmopolitan Buenos Aires city, we visit an estancia, a traditional cattle ranch in the Argentine Pampas, the famous land of the gauchos.

After picking you up from your hotel/port, we will travel 1,45 hours to San Antonio de Areco, an old village that preserves the gaucho’s tradition. Once in Areco, we will visit a colonial church and the Draghi’s workshop, the most famous silversmith in Argentina.

At midday we will arrive at the estancia “El Ombu”, where we will spend the rest of the day. After sampling a glass of famous malbec wine and tasting empanadas, we will have a delicious asado (barbecue) accompanied by a folklore and gaucho skills show.

In the afternoon, you can choose between different countryside activities such as guided horseback riding, a sulky ride or enjoying the swimming pool of the estancia.

Some of the tour highlights: San Antonio de Areco Village, Gaucho museum-Draghi´s silversmith workshop, Estancia El Ombu.
