Explore the city neighborhoods “off the beaten path” with
cobblestone streets that tell the story of a fast growing
city in the 1900s, an area where old city factories and
housing projects live today side by side, in contrast with
the gentrification process that attracts lucrative
businesses.
Along Southern Buenos Aires, away from the tourist spots,
we visit three neighborhoods that preserve the spirit of
the ancient city. Explore those hidden corners where
immigrants settled originally in the early 20th century,
where workers' organizations were born, and where tango had its origins.
During this tour we will explore Barracas, Parque
Patricios and Boedo, three popular neighborhoods. We will
visit old factories, Socialist houses, the Masonry
Society office, the Metropolitan Design Center, public
housing complexes, notable bars and the brand new city
hall by Sir Norman Foster, among other highlights.
